05-02-2010 A heckler has attempted to disrupt a campaign speech by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, before being hustled away.
Brown was addressing Labor supporters in northeastern England, when Oxford University law graduate Julian Borthwick, reportedly shouted: "We're broke" and "What about that bigoted woman?"
Brown had earlier sparked a firestorm by referring to voter Gillian Duffy as "that bigoted woman" after she challenged him on immigration.
Brown interrupted his campaign speech to tell Borthwick there would be time to answer questions later. He then continued the speech, criticizing the Conservative party's plans for an emergency budget and cutbacks.
