Climate Change Commission opens short film contest to students, professionalsClimate Change Commission opens short film contest to students, professionalsIn observance of International Earth Day on April 22, #x the Climate Change Commission (CCC) is calling on all film makers – students, professionals and videographersdvd to avi– to join a short film contest about water conservation.Dubbed “Earth Day 2010: Clean Water Short Film Contest,” the competition, in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), aims to raise public awareness on the urgent need to conserve water.“Droughts and water shortages now besetting the country are clear manifestations of climate change, affecting food security, posing risks to human health, and affects our power supply,dvd to avi” stressed Climate Change Secretary Heherson T. Alvarez.Entries should convey the message of water conservation and its many impacts on agriculture, energy and lifestyles, with a maximum of 20 minutes in DVD format and AVI file. #xSynopsis, film info and film maker’s profile must be in Microsoft Word file, together with stills (in JPEG file) of film entry, all saved in a CD. More than one entry may be submitted not later than April 20.The grand prize winner will receive P40,000 in cash,Flexible Tub; second place P25,000; and third place P15,000. Awarding ceremonies will be held on Earth Day, April 22.Winning entries will be aired ondvd to avi“Equilibrium: Sukatan ng Katuwiran,” Alvarez’s regular TV program over NBN-4.
