State Premier Kristina Keneally announced the funding before the New South Wales budget is released on Tuesday.

The work involves building an underground tunnel and loading dock to reduce traffic on the forecourt and a new lift to move heavy sets and scenery.china tarps

Keneally said there have been 200 traffic incidents on the forecourt in the past three years, many of which required ambulance attendance.Fragrance Potpourri

"The work that we are announcing today ... will remove those heavy vehicles from the forecourt, it will make this building what [architect Jorn Utzon] imaged that it would be," she said.
